Welcome to
Bobbin Cottage is: -
Skipton 4 miles South East; Settle 12 miles North West.
7 miles from Malham, with its spectacular limestone cove and scar, and 4 miles from the ancient market town of Skipton - "The Gateway to the Dales" stands Gargrave. A small, pretty and historic village on the banks of the River Aire. Traversed by the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and the Pennine Way, Gargrave is well served by bus and rail links and a car is not essential to the enjoyment of a holiday in this beautiful part of the Dales.
Nestling on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the village has a Co-op convenience shop, 2 cafes, a newsagents, butchers, pharmacy, pubs, fish and chip shop and restaurant. Gargrave is an ideal base for walking and touring and is popular with cyclists.
The market town of Skipton, and glorious Malham with its limestone scenery, are both within a few miles. Easy day trips include all areas of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Pendle Hill (famous for its connection to both the origins of Quakerism and witchcraft!), the Forest and Vale of Bowland, Haworth and Bronte Country, Hebden Bridge, the Lakes and more. And, if you fancy a break from driving then take a train from Gargrave station on the beautiful and spectacular Settle to Carlisle railway or out to the sea at Morecambe.
A great location for discovering a really pretty, diverse and wild part of the country!
